Underwater power supply

You need to deploy a high-current consumer underwater or autonomously operate a system, because power transmission from the surface is not possible? The use of a battery is then a necessity.

 

We offer a complete system consisting of a battery (in a pressurised housing or as a pressure-compensated system) and charger (with optional splash protection to IP65). Here, the portfolio ranges from our lead-gel batteries up to modern lithium cells, all of which can be deployed in up to 6,000 m.

Lead Deep Sea Battery
The standard model is a pressure-compensated lead-gel battery and can be equipped with a variety of different voltages (12 V/24 V/36 V/48 V). The connection is made with Subconn connectors or can be specifically adapted to the customers requirement.

Lithium Deep Sea Battery
Due to their LiFePO4 cell chemistry, the cells used not only offer a high level of safety in use, but also demonstrate a long service life. On the one hand, our batteries are designed to be able to supply the specified discharge permanently. On the other hand, they are also optimized to be able to deliver the specified discharge current at temperatures around zero.
 
All our lithium-based accumulators have integrated BMS systems that protect the cells against over- and undertemperature, over- and undervoltage, and overload. Likewise, a balancer system is built in, which ensures the longest possible battery life.
 
The charging port is accessible via the built-in octopus service port and guarantees that the pressure housing is vented during charging. At the same time it is possible to see if there is overpressure inside the battery when the service port is opened. Any overpressure that may be present can be compensated for in a controlled manner via the service port. This minimizes the risk of personal injury when handling the batteries.
 
We offer our lithium deep sea batteries in two housing sizes M and L. The nominal power of the size M is 528 Wh, while the rated power of the L version is 1,320 Wh. Both sizes are available with nominal voltages of 13.2 V, 24.4 V and 52.8 V. In addition, the two battery sizes can be ordered for either 1,000 m, 3,000 m or 6,000 m, in order to be able to offer the most cost-effective variant for every operating depth.

Primary Cell Battery Conatiner
Our battery containers for primary cells are filled with standard D cells, which can be sourced globally. For the exchange of the cells it is not necessary that the batteries are welded. Furthermore, the assembly can be can be carried out quickly and easily by the customer. The battery containers can either be equipped with a suitable Oktopus pressure housing for your application depth or for use in your own housing.
 
The standard version holds a total of 180 D cells, which, depending on the cell type, can be connected to form a battery with 22.5 V and 240 Ah, for example. Other sizes, cell types, cell numbers, voltages or capacities are available on request.
