The range of instruments for geological sediment sampling includes gravity corers, vulkanit shock tubes, wax corers, multicorers, box corers, hydraulic grabs and the Vibrocorer (on request). We can offer these as a complete system. Replacement, wearing and accessory parts are available at short notice on request.

Gravity corers are used to remove sediment cores from the seabed. The penetration depth depends on the type of corer, its weight, and the nature of the sediment. Depending on the corer type various deployment requirements in terms of the ship, the winch, and the slider or A-frame must to be fulfilled. We can offer corers in different weight classes and materials for core diameters between 60 mm and 125 mm and variable tube lengths. We supply extensive accessories and wearing parts for your equipment. We also hold handling equipment and sample processing tools (e.g. extruders, core slicers, tube cutters, core catchers). We will also be happy to supply you with a non-standard gravity corer to suit your application.

The Multiple Corer core tube holder is used to hold the core tubes in the Oktopus Multicorer family. However, it is also possible to adapt it as a separate module to your own devices, individually or as a group. As a customer, you can specify the tube diameter, the number of tubes and the tube material for a wide range of samplers. We also offer a core tube optimised for CT scanners. In addition, a wide range of accessories such as extruders, stoppers, replacement tubes, and wearing and spare parts is available. The following features make it comfortable to use: - tool-free assembly and disassembly of the core tubes in seconds - clip mechanism prevents the tubes from falling out even when the holder is opened - exclusive use of stainless steel and polypropylene - ergonomic frontal access to the sample possible - quick release for Oktopus proprietary and protected locking system (this allows the holder with sample to be removed from the sampling device within one second) - reliable triggering even in adverse weather conditions

Our Waxcorers are used where the seabed is too hard for the use of a Multiple Corer or a Box Corer, but where bottom samples are still needed.
